Personality: Optimistic, curious and energetic, Eliza is a girl who is eager to make friends and learn about her newfound environment. Incredibly cheerful, and often just a bit too talkative, some find her personality magnetic while others find it nothing short of exhausting.
Though she might not be incredibly bright, Eliza is a very genuine girl and seeks to help anyone and everyone she can, regardless of their personality or history. She abhors violence and can't stand to see others hurt, but will fight with all her strength to defend the weak and defenseless... Just don't be surprised if she helps her opponent up afterwards.
Her kind and trusting disposition, however, often lead her into trouble; she's extremely gullible and forgiving, and seems to have no sense of self-preservation despite her drive to protect others.

Combat Abilities: Eliza is pretty much average in all her traits aside from strength; her (half)demon heritage has granted her the ability to lift and carry around three times her own weight (so, 450-500lbs)- she'd also have a hell of a punch, if she were the type to punch people. As it stands, her strength mostly comes in handy with carrying the injured.
She also has the ability to summon her scythe, but has 0 knowledge of how to wield it as an actual weapon, and its reaping powers are long dissapeared. The most she could really use it for is intimidation. (lol)
Combat weaknesses: Aside from being unremarkable in any area but physical strength, Eliza's... Fluffier build doesn't really lend itself to endurance. She can't run very far or fast, and gets winded easily.
Additionally, her pacifistic nature generally means she won't fight back against an opponent- regardless of whether that stops them- unless she's defending another.

Character Backstory: Eliza was born as the result of a brief fling between Death and a human woman, Elmira. Though dearly beloved by both parents, she was raised primarily in the Underworld with her father- human traits aren't too uncommon amongst demonkind, but demonic traits amongst humans do tend to be frowned upon.
She grew up, along with her many (MANY) sisters, assisting her father with his job of escorting mortal souls to their final resting place in the underworld. Eliza enjoyed her job despite her compassionate nature; she saw it as a necessary part of the life cycle, and an opportunity to befriend and comfort those who had passed as she escorted them. Her family was close-knit despite its size, and she was content to remain with them in the Underworld despite a slight, nagging curiousity about what lay above, in the surface world.
This curiousity became more than slight when she befriended a sickly human by the name of Tristan; close to death himself, he was able to see Eliza when most mortals could not. Intrigued to finally have a human friend to talk to and learn from, Eliza began to frequent Tristan's home, often shirking her duties to spend time with him and listen to his stories. Of course, given Tristan's condition, it wasn't long before it was his time to be escorted to the Underworld- and by a cruel twist of fate, Eliza was assigned the task.
By that time, the two had grown so close that she couldn't bring herself to claim his soul, and she boldly stood against her orders. Her father assented, and sent one of her sisters to perform the task instead. Eliza couldn't stand the thought of losing the one she'd become so attached to, and fought with all the might she had to protect Tristan. Given her sister's fully demonic blood, however, the fight was quite one-sided. Eliza failed to protect the boy, and she lost him to her sister's scythe.
Her defiance was looked upon as treason, and despite her father's best efforts to appeal for a second chance, Eliza was exiled from her Underworld home. Dropped into an unfamiliar locale, alone and uncertain of her mother's whereabouts, Eliza decided she would find a way to make it on her own. By a stroke of luck, she found employment at a local maid cafe after being mistaken for a particularly skilled cosplayer, and in time carved out a quiet living for herself.
The turbulent atmosphere of Hajime City bothers her however. She has little understanding of the conflicts and deeper reasoning that have caused distrust between humans and Yokai (or humans and other humans, or anyone and anyone for that matter), and seeks to be a peacekeeper of sorts, helping any and all who need it regardless of their affiliation. Determined to do what little she can to make life easier for those around her, Eliza forges on, learning about the modern world and human society as she goes.
