--The Yūekina Report: March 2017 Edition--

[2017/02/17 18:55]  Yuki: Once against gestured towards Mrs. Dawnstrider, "Do you mind if I ask a few questions about the Casino?" Flashing a gentle smile at the woman, as they began to set up their tripod.

[2017/02/17 19:01]  Miki Dawnstrider: Looked back toward Yuki and straightened, wings adjusting themselves neatly on her back. "Oh! Absolutely, I apologize. Nineteen years married and he still distracts me." She actually blushed a bit and looked down at herself, making sure she was presentable before nodded to Yuki. "Fire away! I'm happy to help!"

[2017/02/17 19:15]  Yuki: "Haha, no no, not yet. I was just setting up my camera. You two are effortlessly adorable." Yuki pulled out their microphone, talking into it as they walk in front of the placed camera. "Hello Hajime City, I, Yuki Watabe of the Yuekina News - voice of the people, am here with Mrs. Miki Dawnstrider at the Casino Grand Opening!" They smile wide, their free hand gestured towards Mrs. Dawnstrider. "My first question for you Mrs. Dawnstrider is, how are you doing this evening?"

[2017/02/17 19:22]  Miki Dawnstrider: was still caught up in a blush, which doubled at the cute remark. Damn it, she wanted to be flawless in front of the camera! Blast! Still, she was in an extremely good humor and easily smiled as Yuki started, and gave the camera a modest bow- making sure no cleavage was inappropriately shown. "Thank you very much, I am honored. And I am in the best of spirits with such an exciting night, and with this opportunity to speak with you and our thriving city." She sounded absolutely genuine, and for good reason. Being visibly non-human, it was a chance to show the city that she and her associates were friendly!

[2017/02/17 19:38]  Yuki: Their cheeks becoming a bit flushed at being in the presence of someone who's helped the city grow so much. "Blue United Trust is famous for doing just that, so many people are curious, what does Blue United Trust see in the value of a Casino at Hajime City?"

[2017/02/17 19:45]  Miki Dawnstrider: Inclined her head, "There's several things we saw potential in with a Casino, actually. The biggest deciding factor was... we know how hard it is to live in a city when you're struggling to catch a break. My husband and I started off very humble, sometimes having to ask his parents for a little help from their beautiful bakery to make ends meet. We just needed a little break, and if you spend your time at a Casino wisely, you can find yourself with a little or  a lot extra. But also, a Casino is a business that drums up a lot of money- and in turn, puts a lot of tax money back into the city. It's a new location offering more jobs, and, it's also a place of entertainment. Our company, we're trying to put back into the community by trying new things and seeing what works. When Hajime thrives, we thrive!"

[2017/02/17 19:59]  Yuki:  "Wow, that's quite admirable. Especially seeing that many come to this city in order to build themselves up. The Casino will surely be another thing to add onto the tourism in Hajime City, which has hit an all time high recently. The city is thriving beautifully. Thank you, Mrs. Dawnstrider." Yuki then looks towards the camera, "Lets ask other patrons what they think. Again, this is Yuki Watabe of the Yuekina News, live at the Casino Grand Opening!"

[18:35] Itsuki [Redacted] : 'Ah, hello! My name is Itsuki [Redacted] , I'm calling to set up an interview? I have an experience to share about my encounter with the police, and how the non-human cop nearly instigated a street fight. Here's my contact information, just let me know if that's something you guys would like to do' ---  Itsuki [Redacted]  lowered the phone from his ear, the sound of his own voice filtering through his mind. He'd be meeting with someone from the paper any moment now, on the second floor of the library. He'd dressed nicely enough, a white work button down, and a clean pair of jeans, but it was obvious he wasn't very well off. While he waited, he browsed a bookshelf of Art History tomes.

[18:49] Yuki Watabe: Pressed their hands against the library's doors dressed in their recently ironed pantsuit. Hopefully it wasn't too formal for the meeting. As they walked towards the elevator, a hand rest clutched around their bag strap, containing paper, pen, and a camera, some other personal items. Upon reaching the second floor, they stepped off of it, taking a look around. He didn't really give them a description of what they looked like, so Yuki decided to go ahead and take a seat. They placed their bag onto the couch, pulling out their items and setting them onto the coffee table before them, waiting for Mr. Itsuki [Redacted]  to approach them...

[18:55] Itsuki [Redacted] : He looked over when he heard the elevator start up, he as the only one in the library currently, other than the man downstairs, so it was either the news people... or Mr. Librarian coming up to put books away. When he spotted The Yuki, he shut the art book and tucked it under his arm- making his way over. "Ah, hello!" He sounded exactly like his recording, and he held out a hand for them to shake, "Mr.  Itsuki [Redacted] , I take it you're with the paper?" He didn't sit, yet, but remained respectful. He had the typical look of someone that was young and a little alternative. His undercut was a tad extreme, and he had spacers in his ears, but otherwise he looked clean cut enough. Well, save the tired bags under his eyes, but his smile was bright.

[19:06] Yuki Watabe: Looking up to the rather young man, greeting him with a warm and inviting smile. "Oh yes-yes! Please take a seat, as you know I'm Yuki Watabe of the Yuekina paper! Oh dang...I should've brought us some coffee. Please forgive me, it's been rather lively in the city as of late! So much to report!" They let out a chuckle, overlooking the young man...he was pretty dang cute, but definitely the delinquent type. Yuki could relate to that, being one of the many reasons why they joined the paper. "So before we get to the nitty gritty, tell me about yourself Mr. Itsuki [Redacted] ."

[19:23] Itsuki [Redacted] : He moved to sit on the couch, a nice respectable distance, but a comfortably close one for strangers in a private discussion. "Oh, don't worry about it. I don't like the stuff, I go for tea anyway! It's a pleasure to meet you, uh.... Yuki!" Mr? Miss? Best to stick with first names and try not to sweat at the gender confusion. It didn't much matter, until you were trying to be formal! Then you were horse-fucked. "About myself? Well, I love in the city, with my brother. We're... not very well off. We work the nitty gritty jobs, lifting, cleaning, fixing... sometimes working in cramped restaurant kitchens." He sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck and looked away, "It's hard to get very far when it's paycheck to paycheck, but at least the Itsuki [Redacted]  Brothers have each other. We like to play a lot of pool, or use the skate park."

[19:40] Yuki Watabe: Looked at this in disbelief for a short moment: How could anyone dislike coffee? Yuki could have sworn that coffee ran through their veins instead of blood! They laughed it off though, grabbing their pen and paper to scribble down the details. "Ah, I see." Nodding their head towards the kid. Writing down: Low income, brothers. Enjoys swimming, skating, but hardworking. "Yes, yes. Living in the city is very difficult, especially when trying to establish yourself...So, your encounter with HCPD, how did it start?"

[20:00] Itsuki [Redacted] : Winced a bit, "Well, I'll admit that I should have been approached by a member of the PD. I..." he blushed profusely and glanced away, rubbing his palms over his knees, "I really had to GO go, and no one was around when I uh, started. I mean it's still not okay! I guess... as a guy it's not that big a deal. And I used a bush to relive myself on, not like, the street. It was just a dire... anyway." He lifted his fist and coughed a little, "So, I'll atone for that, and I'll pay a fine, even. Shouldn't have done that. So... I do get an officer walking up to me, huge... massive non-human. A dog... creature? Terrified me instantly, she was so huge I couldn't read the badge on her chest. Naturally, I'm utterly terrified, not just for getting caught with my sensitive bits out, but being caught like that by something that could flick the skull off my shoulders. Naturally, I started to act fidgety- no one wants to be in that position, you know? I realize it's a cop when they order me to put my, uh... my bits, away.
[20:00] Itsuki [Redacted] :  At this point I get a little upset? She'd just terrified me coming at me like that... and you know, I couldn't stop taking a leak all of a sudden, you know? And she like... she actually says something along the lines of 'I don't know if you humans even can control yourselves enough to stop mid stream', or something like that." He paused, and took in a breath, as there was more but, he needed some air.
[20:13] Yuki Watabe: Continued to nod their head, "Wow, that's incredibly rude...over exerting one's power on someone vulnerable." Taking their pen, and scribbling down more notes: Large canine-like officer. Young man caught urinating behind a bush...Officer says something unprofessional and racist...young man uneasy, scared during the initial contact. Yuki furrowed their eyebrows, blushing slightly. "W-wow, it'd be very embarrassing to be caught in a position like that."
[20:34] Itsuki [Redacted] : Shook his head! "No, that's only the start! So, I tell them I can't stop, but that as soon as I can, I would gladly put my... I guess we can just say it, penis, away. I... foolishly tried to lighten the mood AND get her name, as she hadn't even given me her name yet, and I joked that I would uh... write her name? It was stupid, just a gaff to lighten the mood and find out who she was." He was still extremely red, but continued. "So, I do get my willy tucked away and I turn to her, and there's people on the street now, and one of them walks right up to stop and observe, she had, ears and a tail, but clearly wasn't PD? I was horribly embarrassed, and honestly a bit upset, and I raised my voice to ask her 'What the hell are you looking at?' I didn't move, I wasn't aggressive, aside from being upset. And the non-human officer pulled their gun on me. Pointed a laser at my chest! Even though I was complying! And across the street, there was this oddly dressed  but human looking woman that started to pull something
[20:34] Itsuki [Redacted] :  out, like, looked like a weapon, in response?"

[20:45] Yuki Watabe: "Ah--oh wow..." They mumbled softly in response. Writing down more things: Another person-non human appears, young man attempts to joke? "Wow, very uh..very very unprofessional of her."

[20:55] Itsuki [Redacted] : He shrugged and rubbed at an arm. "I told her I was complying so she had no reason to point a gun at me, she said something about I hadn't complied before, that she asked me twice but, I TOLD her I couldn't stop mid stream and I'd cooperate as soon as I could? Anyway, I let her cuff me, she told me she was going to take me to the station to administer a Breathalyzer test, the woman across the street put her weapon away, and the one that walked up on me watched us go. Thing is, once we got to the station, she did administer the breath test, I came up 0.0, then... she just let me go. She didn't process me. Didn't get my name. I mean, aren't the PD supposed to do that with anyone they bring in, no matter what? For their records? It just felt like... with the tensions in the air between humans and non-humans, she saw someone at their weakest point, dick in hand literally, and used that to throw their weight around? Why else wouldn't they document what they did? I just feel... uncomfortable now, are the PD not
[20:55] Itsuki [Redacted] :  training their non-humans properly, putting them through the right sensitivity training? Are... non-humans in a position of authority just... dangerous? I don't... I don't know anymore."
[21:10] Yuki Watabe: They sat there in disbelief, thinking how uncalled and just plain distasteful their actions had been. This isn't what PD was supposed to do at all. They felt bad for the poor guy having gone through that. He could sue if he wanted to. This only fueled Yuki's fear of non-humans a bit more, but they couldn't show it due to work reasons. They continued to write down notes on his experience with the officer. At least their description of the officer was a clear one, and there isn't very many large canine creatures roaming the city...that only left Rachel Laurence of the HCPD. Who's already under the city's eye for being non-human...
[21:15] Itsuki [Redacted] : He inhaled, "So, I didn't get her name either. Large, giant, muscle-y white canine-type creature. I'm sorry if that doesn't help much." He sat there, hands on his knees, staring at the coffee table. "I just... I didn't want to tell anyone at first, because it's embarrassing to admit that I was... caught pissing on a bush. But... this is more important than my pride." The young man rubbed at his heated face, then looked at Yuki. "To think that she nearly started a fight on the street with another human across the way, over... what? What if someone died? What if I... I mean that would have left my brother to deal with everything on his own and I can't... imagine that."

[21:27] Yuki Watabe: Looks at him with worried eyes. He was right, if something happened worse...Yuki wasn't in it to make the HCPD look bad, but to help them improve by showing them what was wrong. This was their right, they had to let people know. "You're very brave, Mr. Itsuki [Redacted] . I know not many could do that sort of thing."

[21:30] Itsuki [Redacted] : "Bah," he grinned, but it was tinged with embarrassment, "I don't know if that was brave so much as... just needed to swallow my pride. Also, about that. I don't mind you using my first name, but, maybe not my surname? I don't want my brother dragged into my mess if I can prevent it? You can just change my surname for the sake of the paper."

[21:35] Yuki Watabe: "Don't worry about it, I can call you by something else." They smiled in a reassuring manner, making sure to write this under an anonymous source. "Thank you for reporting your story...hopefully with this information people will be informed, and the HCPD can improve on their training."
[21:40] Itsuki [Redacted] : He nodded, then stood up, and offered his hand again. "Thank you, for hearing me out. I know not all non-humans are horrible, dangerous people. I see some with pointy ears, or ones that look like pretty fairies with wings and all, they were nice. But the animal ones..." He left it at that, face grim.

[21:57] Yuki Watabe: Started to gather their things, placing them into the bag. "Yes, I've noticed that the more animal like, non-humans take a lot more work than the fae..." They extended a hand out for a quick handshake. "It's been a pleasure working with you."

[22:00] Itsuki [Redacted] : Gave them a big grin. "Same! I wouldn't be put out if we ever bumped into each other in the city for a quick hello. And maybe I'll try coffee again on the way home." He picked up the art book he was looking at, and went back to thumbing through it.

"Hey! This is Itsuki [Redacted] I've been put in the ****ing jail cell unlawfully by HCPD. Apparently I was out passed this redicious curfew, and got tased in the ***s for no **** reason! I may not be able to have kids anymore because of the HCPD! The officer's name was Vanessa Tiānlán, a really tall lady with blue hair. They're listening to me now so I don't have much more time--there's an officer's voice, sounds female, in the background rushing them to end the call--Ey I know! Jesus ****ing Christ! Let me finish! Heh, anyways...I could've called anyone, but this info is important! People we need to fight back against these unlawful ****s!" Before the call ends, there's a jerk back, followed by Itsuki cursing some more, then a loud slam is heard.    

[17:26] Angry_Yokai: How dare they put a fence in front of the forest, it's as though they consider us animals! To 'cage' us is an incredible insult

[19:29] Anonymous_T:"quite honestly, I'm annoyed as hell at that curfew crap. friend of mine feels rather insulted by it, too."

[20:02] Audere Est Facere: The phone at Yuki's desk starts to ring. The LCD panels lights up with an unfamiliar internal extension. The text Reads 9999: Voice-mail.
[20:05] Audere Est Facere: A modulated, almost machinelike voice replies back. "You're taking phone calls about the curfew right?"
[20:11] Audere Est Facere: A small pause on the line is broken by a sound clip of the Simpson's Mr. Burns saying 'Excellent.' I've gone through a good deal to ensure my anonymity. So I'm going to tell you and everyone what they need to hear,  the truffles the pigs won't share."
[20:41] Audere Est Facere: "The state of emergency is a bunch of bullshit. The commissioner has failed to keep us safe and now we're the ones who pay the price. We have no rights anymore, no trials. They can search anyone- and anywhere they want with out reason. They'll arrest you on suspicion alone. All because they can't handle a simple terrorist." a short pause as they catch their breath. "And y' know, They say that they;''ll use lethal force if you resist. They have no qualms whatsoever with killin' you for not falling in line; and they want to talk about sickness?" a gun cocking sound can be heard. The voice getting more aggressive "If the police think that they can play by their own rules, So- should- we-. An eye for an eye. If they think we're all just gonna bend over and them fuck us, they're DEAD wrong."
[20:41] Audere Est Facere: The audio line cuts out to a DJ scratch then plays the first verse of Fuk Da Police by N.W.A

[20:48] Ms. Angry: "This is an outrage, the city is on lock down and I'm stuck not being able to go to the casino! What does the city think its doing! If the mayor doesn't fix this he won't be getting my vote next term!"

[21:14] Anonymous_D: "I feel like this curfew is detrimental to this city. First of all there is a possibiltity a criminal is not going to care about this law like all the other wonderful laws we have here. Secondly I believe that our economy will suffer because our late night business will suffer from income loss. Thirdly, the police force might become more corrupted and commit unlawful acts with no witnesses around because of the curfew."
