Born in Cheshire, England; the product of an affair between an English sales admin and a visiting Japanese businessman.  Griffith never knew his father, and his father likely never knew he had conceived a child.  Though childhood was not uncomfortable, Griffith grew up almost entirely in isolation, due to his mother's demanding vocation and his own developing antisocial and introverted personality.  As soon as he was able to read, he spent as much time as possible in front of screens or pouring over books.  Considered a savant with cognitive abilities far beyond the average by the various doctors who examined him, he was diagnosed with High-Functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder in his pre-adolescence.

Though he excelled in school, he had no social interactions of note in the waking world.  However, he found his niche in the depths of the internet.  Assuming the alias of "WhiteHawk" he smashed both worldwide online gaming rankings, and ultra-secured data servers belonging to both private companies and federal governments until the alias had reached notoriety in the gaming community and as a cybercriminal.  The boy was motivated neither by ambition or ideals, but obsession.  Under his alias he experienced a freedom and control unlike anything he could ever achieve in his own life, and he desired to soar on those wings of freedom forever.

At age 15, Griffith's mother packed up their entire lives and moved them to Hajime City for reasons unknown to her son.  The boy remained studious, his western appearance and white-blond hair caused him to stand out in a Japanese school setting, causing him to recede even further inside himself, and inside his technological haven.  WhiteHawk continued to grow more and more popular, but because he remained anonymous many copycats and fakes began to appear.  A few of these fakes were even taken into custody, as WhiteHawk had become wanted by Interpol for leaking the classified data of various nations around the world, in many cases causing massive civil unrest.

As himself, he knew or rather believe that he was nothing.  A frail and thin boy who struggled to even make eye contact with others.  But as WhiteHawk, he was unstoppable.  Nothing could be hidden from his discerning eyes should they set their gaze on it, and his skill as a tactician in the world of virtual battle were unmatched by any other player.

Three years later, a gunshot shattered the silence of the complex where Griffith lived with his mother, and eradicated his only connection to the rest of humanity.  The boy, now 18, ventured from the dark solitude of his room to find that his mother had taken her own life with a handgun.  There was no note, no indication of why, only the only human of flesh and blood he had ever had affection for slumped lifelessly over her desk, a small trickle of blood flowing from the entry wound in her temple.

Any reasonable 18 year old would have their psyche shattered.  Even one who had single-handedly bankrupted corrupt corporations.  However, the officers that interviewed the boy after the incident described him as “Distant and apathetic, completely calm as if he were unaware that he had witnessed his own mother commit suicide.  He had no other relatives, certainly no family in Japan.  He merely shut himself back in the very same apartment, easily handling expenses with funds obtained from online activity both legitimate and illicit.

It's been a year now, and nothing seems to have changed for Griffith.
But why...?
Why did his mother take her life with no warning?
Why was he so seemingly unaffected by it?
Is he just going to shut himself away forever?
Or...?
