Character Backstory:

There once was a village Boido no mura, the village was nothing special just your typical Japanese style shogun ate palace town. The village itself was built along a river that lead to a hot spring. Tho originally this town was the crossing road for were the dead transcended back into the planet.  There was a bridge that was only half built leading to the center of the springs. It was seed that this bridge lead directly into the spirit void. Tho long ago this was not just folklore. When the original settlers came to this place they built a shrine  to the spirits of nature in the springs. Tho odd things started happening to the village as oni were emerging from voids in the town quite often.. so a army was stationed at the town to fight them eventually the army called the aid of a mystic. The mystic was able to trap the spirits in the village all of them in the veal for 4 years but in order to maintain this  they had to do a dark ceremony once every four years. The ceremony had to be done or the lands would fall into darkness, and be swallowed by the evil they tried to bury away. The people took this ceremony with almost religious devotion. The sacrificing of a pure soul to the void. This ceremony was made to keep the oni in the void and to protect the town.  



It was time for the 25^th anniversary of the banishing. The new name the people called the sacrifice of the void.  The town was up and about planning there festival. however something was amiss. The new mage did not like the fact that he was forced to kill a innocent life. Tho it was no secret this mystic objected to this ceremony and did not like the fact the dictator like shogun forced it upon the people. It was no secret that in recent years there were rebels who were speaking out against the ceremony. Tho most the time they would vanish. The movement to find another way as they called it was growing. The village this time around was not as happy and joyful, but rather it was tense. You could feel the uneasiness in the air. The people did not seem to look at each other with care rather they seemed to be judging each other. Maybe this is why it happened. That fateful day when the proceedings for the ceremony were going the mystic turned his attention to the springs knowing once this was a place to worship nature and its embodied yokai he had a plan. If he could call upon the power of one of those spirits and contain it maybe he could contain the oni from the void the same way. The ceremony went on without any words spoken. The mystic at the last moment conjured up a Furrrmily or  and shoved the shoguns oldest daughter into the life spring. His intentions were to trap a nature spirit to use as an eternal sacrifice.  Tho the to the shogun stabbing the mystic and killing him. As the shogun thought he just murdered his daughter. As the shogun looked at his blade he relied what he had done, there was no one to complete their ceremony just then the tension that had been building in the town for the past century broke out. People started to fight and kill one and other. Its unclear as to how it happened but in the fighting the shrine caught fire as it burned the village was sucked into the void it used to contain the evil spirits.  It is sea now that once ever 4 years the village reemerges from the void where you can see the eternal flames still burning hear the cry's of people locked in a eternal struggle and whiteness the gruesome  Tho thos who stumble upon the village are never heard from again.



This is a story of a rather twisted fate. One you have to know the story of two people to understand. We will start with mistress eyna.
Eyna was the daughter of the shogunate his princes much was expected of her she was trained to be a elegant lass the perfect housewife an she was content with this. She was faithful to her family and ready to be married off.

Now kori was a spirit in the life stream swell. She was being matured as she was being made by nature to be its protector. She was  being formed in the shape of a cat. She was meant to help the people of this village and protect them she knew this even tho she was not ready to be spawned upon the world as she was incomplete.
When mistress eyna fell into the waters of life that day. The spirit wanted to help her but due to the magic placed on her she was beyond help.

However this did not stop the underdeveloped pure natured yokia from trying to help her. Though when the yokia came into contact with the dying girl its life energy was pulled into the girl. It is not understood how this happened as the scrolls on the magic used are lost burned with the majority of the village. However the spirit when it was pulled into mistress eyna became part of her no rather she became the yokia her body her soul and here living energy what was left was used to finish forming the spirit which took her image as well as its nature form. Although the newly formed yokia was bound to the last item the girl held a Mattagami. Though the Mattagami ironically was one to ward away yokia.

Thus the story of the new entity kori'eyna was born. The spirit waking up some time later, at the shore line of the springs. Would be trapped for the first 4 years in the void with the towns folk. Thus she would reside in that village. Although  She would see the people but they could not see her. They were frozen in time motionless. All the spirit could do is read so she did. Tho what she read horrified her. So much that to this day she feels a bitterness towards humans. When the village emerged from the void  after 4 years, the spirit would watch as the people came to life only to be insane there minds twisted by the void as it was corrupting their souls.Thus the people only the grew worse soon they would not even look human anymore. An that is when the spirit decided to take what she could and leave hoping to seek help for them and find her lost necklaces, or maybe just to find her purpose in life.

Specialized Equipment:
Spirit Totem: Forged from the neckless Eyna wore when they were killed. Used by her father’s blood to bound her together with it. Only one from the family’s bloodline can use it to control the totem or destroy it. Due to her corruption, the totem itself has become weak to light magic despite the totem repealing dark magic, making her weak to light magic overall. Beings with dark essence or any sort of corruption are repealed by the totem.

Soulbound Armor: A light suit of armor that converts spirit energy into physical protection.
Can protect against 2 physical moderate attacks before breaking.
Takes up to 1 day to reform the armor.

Soulbound Sword: A blade that convert spirit energy into physical damage. The higher the proficiency in spiritual magic, the more damage is produced. Those who attempt to wield the sword will see only but a rusty unusable blade in their hand.
Moderate physical slashing and piercing damage.


Abilities:

Reborn: Her Spirit Totem allows her physical form to reappear after 7 days, if she’s killed, but her Spirit Totem and Protective Gem are left intact. She will remember the death, but not the reason for it.

Empathy: the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. Needs OOC Consent to use ability at all.

Contact Empathy - Contact Empathy is activated by when another person allows her to feel their intentions, emotions, and pains.

Passive Empathy - All around her she can hear the energy of nature around her, allowing her to feel nature’s pain as if it was her own. Passively, her aura sooths the environment.

Self Damage - Any pain that she inflicts on others, she feels herself - taking a third of damage anytime she attacks others. (Taking 1 minor damage for any moderate damage given, and taking 1 moderate damage for any heavy given.)

Alternative States - Kori’Eyna is able to shift into different states with focus. Each state has it’s own weaknesses and special traits.

Elemental Bolt Spells: Available in Void, Water, and Ice elements.
-Does one minor magical damage, if charged for three turns it can produce moderate magical damage.
-Casts instantly.

Life Stream Channeling: Kori is able to channel healing magic in three different forms. Anyone who is weak to light energy will instead be damaged for the equal amount of healing.
Life Spring - Heals multiple people within a 5 meter radius for 1 minor.
Life Restore - Heals a person for 1 minor.
Life Surge - Takes a turn to cast, can heal a person for 1 moderate.

Water Magic: Healing magic channeled through water. Anyone who is weak to fire will instead be damaged for the equal amount of healing.
Gel Ball - A water sphere capable of healing a person for 1 minor.
Splash - Heals multiple people within a 5 meter radius for 1 minor.
Blast - Takes a turn to cast, can heal a person for 1 moderate.

Ice Magic: Magical attacks channeled through ice.
Ice Saurian - Able to cast up to 3 ice projectiles. Each ice projectile does 1 minor magical ice damage. When all 3 projectiles are combined they will do 1 moderate damage.
Ice Wall - A wall made of ice that protects against 2 moderate attacks before being destroyed. Takes one post to summon.
Ice Snare - A status effect spell that causes people to freeze where they stand for up to three turns. Can only be used if there is a liquid around.



Racial Weaknesses:

Warded Against: Yokai are mainly spiritual creatures and thus they are susceptible to Holy or Purifying magics, even those considered to be “Holy” or “Pure” in affinity. Thus, all Yokai take +1 Moderate damage from Holy or Purifying damage.

Overall Weaknesses: These weaknesses affect her despite what State she currently is in.

Lighting Magic: Lightning magic scales in damage. (Minor damage becoming moderate damage and so on.)

Holy Magic: Holy magic scales in damage. in addition to race damage
(Minor damage becoming moderate damage and so on. with consent can one shot her / completely render defeated.)

Tail: Tugging on her tail will render her still for 2-3 turns.

Exploits: Can easily be interrupted during her channeling, causing her to have to recharge any skills that require channeling to use.

Protective Gem: If the Protective Gem on her forehead is damaged, then she will be unable to use any magic skills until the Gem is healed. Completely destroying the Gem will send her back to the void/lifestream for a week until a new one is formed.

Perma-Death: Destroying her Spirit Totem will result in a Perma-Death.
