Positive Traits/Strengths:

• Compassionate - Despite appearances, she does care a surprising amount about people and things. She is a great believer in balance, and will never let a favour go un-returned, and considers herself a champion of the downtrodden.
  
• Good listener - A lifetime of silence has made sure she pays close attention to what people say, which makes her both a caring friend and a canny investigator.
  
• Determined - Once committed to something, she rarely quits. Strong willed and stubborn, she will use her full skillset to achieve her goals.
  
• Serenely calm -  It takes a lot to disturb her almost eerie patience and calm. Even whilst fighting, she remains analytical and somewhat detached.
  

Negative Traits/Weaknesses:

• Chilly disposition - Most people's first impression of her is of an uninterested, rude and even abrasive girl... which is all some people will ever see. If she judges a person to be not worth her time or in some way a villain, she doesn't even give them the time of day, and can even be cold to people she does like, if the mood takes her.
  
• Violent - A rough childhood and danger-filled adulthood has left her with a clear opinion that violence solves problems. She will not hesitate to dish out appropriate retribution, if she deems it appropriate.

• A lot of her quiet, uncommunicative personality is counterbalanced by the blustering and enthusiastic Professor Magoria, who travels everywhere with her in the bottle round her neck and mostly speaks for her, acting as a mouthpiece for the selective mute. He has limited access to her surface thoughts, although he sees and sense from the tiny bottle.
  
• Her boots require more feeding than she does, although they will eat just about anything, from trash to roadkill. They sometimes snack whilst she's standing about.  
  
• She sends the majority of her commission pay home, despite the fact that her parents do not need the financial support. She feels more thankful than she can ever suitably express towards them for rescuing her from her old life, and constantly searches for new ways to do so.
  
• She cannot pronounce the letter 'H' no matter how hard she tries.

Personal Inventory:

• [Hellmaw Boots] During a particularly nasty case in Germany where twin demonic hounds had wrecked havoc on a series of farms, she managed to trap and bind the pair of them into her own leather boots. She was successful in soothing the dumb but vicious minds, and they now work to fiercely protect themselves (and therefore her) by snapping at anything that comes near.
  
• [Fanged Bag of Holding] A Swiss bank was once hit by a nasty series of curses that turned all of the vaults into fanged, monstrous mouths. Although Bridget successfully re-homed these into a garbage-landfill site, she kept the smallest, most amiable one bound in her bag. The viciously toothed mouth only opens and closes for her, and will bite heavily at anyone who tries to steal from it. It connects to a small room where she keeps all her possessions, and in a pinch, can sleep in, although it's very uncomfortable and puts her at a high risk of kidnap. The bag itself is always as light as a handbag, regardless of the contents.
  
• [Soul Sand] A mysterious and ancient powder that Professor Magoria helps her create. Made from regular sand, and a selection of rarer reagents, soul sand is pure silver in its most basic form. It is quick to inherit the colours of the possessing spirits. It soaks up loose supernatural energy with ease, and is vital in the proper storage of spirits.
  
• [Glass Jar Collection] Although far from uniform in size, shape or thickness, Bridget possesses a large number of small jars in which Soul Sand can be poured and subsequently, supernatural beings can be confined. She has a great number of stored beings already, and many many more jars to go.
  

Combat Abilities:

Self-defender: Her already naturally quick reflexes were further aided by self-defence training. She's agile, fast and a thin target to hit. Although nowhere near superhuman levels, she's much more likely to best an untrained human in a fair fight. Highly likely to avoid punches, projectiles and grapples, if she sees them coming and her movement is unhindered.

Demonic wardrobe: She carries a variety of possessed items with her, but the most combat relevant are the fearsome Hellhounds bound to her shoes. Capable of snapping at her target as she kicks and leaving behind painful, sizzling hot bite marks along with the impact of her kicks, her boots improve the damage of her kicks to moderate.

Combat weaknesses:

Delicate: Although fast, she is not strong. She relies on agility to win fights. If actually caught, she is much easier to restrain, she cannot lift a great amount and is very easy to lift.

Sensitive skin: As well as needing a lot more sun cream, her albino skin is especially vulnerable to burning. +1 Fire damage taken.


Character Backstory:
Raised in Bordeaux, Bridget Rousseau was severely disadvantaged in her early years. A frail child born with Albinism to a drug addled mother and violent father, she was rescued by social services aged three from her abusive home. She was adopted by the acclaimed academic and author Professor Emmet Dupont and his husband Samuel. Although her new home life was happy and she was very well cared for, the newly re-christened Bridget Dupont faced trials at school.

Her classmates teased her relentlessly for what they saw as a 'demonic' appearance; her pale ivory skin, near-white hair and red-tinted eyes scared many of the other children... that, and the fact she seemingly refused to speak. This resulted in regular targeting by bullies; she picked up very quickly how to dodge a punch and avoid confrontation, and if needs be, end a fight with a well placed elbow or kick. Although she would talk briefly and quietly to her new parents, she seemed unwilling to utter another word to anyone else, even if it got her in trouble. Despite therapy provided by her caring fathers, she seemed resolute in this regard, often refusing to communicate even by written text. She was diagnosed with Selective Mutism, and continued her education with a patient private tutor. After many months calm coaching, she eventually began to speak in front of her tutor.

She seemed fascinated with world history and languages, quickly becoming fluent in both writing and speaking English, Japanese and of course, her native French. As she blossomed into a young adult, she began to attend self-defence classes. She honed her playground-learned skills to a level where anyone accosting this thin, waif-like girl on the street would either end up on the ground or, if she was in a good mood, find that she'd slipped away from their grasp like mist. She was also deeply interested in Japan, having a soft spot for their architecture and culture, and decided she was going to move to Tokyo to investigate the next stage of her education. After spending a few months lurking in libraries, she concluded that her best shot at acceptance and a truly interesting curriculum lay on a mysterious island, only a ferry ride away...

She left the island school after only a brief stay. Despite meeting many pleasant characters, she had found herself haunted by the ghost of an elderly professor, Arthur Magoria. The professor was obsessed with the idea that a student could free him from the island. Bridget did not speak to many people during her stay, but she spoke to him. Although she did not wield magic herself, she had studied it at great length. Not wanting to draw the attention of the island's shrine lest he be dispelled forever, Professor Magoria helped her learn not just Exorcism, but Insorcism too, and she proved to be excellent at it. Bridget successfully bound his soul to a small jar of Soul Sand and left the island. Rather than dispel demons and spirits, she bound them in objects and collected them obsessively. She became a sort of for-hire paranormal investigator, travelling the world and solving supernatural problems, but always returning to Japan, constantly on the look out for new work and more knowledge.
